In an increasingly digital world, maintaining access to data 24/7 is business critical, not only for continuity of services to customers and operational uptime, but also keeping the regulators happy.
And as FSIs continue their shift to the cloud, high-profile incidents of service outages have brought the need for availability into sharp relief as FSIs struggle with the reputational, regulatory, and financial fallout. To manage this risk, a number of FSIs are adopting cloud-based and multi-cloud architecture to ensure connectivity and accessibility of data as well as create a harmonised environment for operations from the front to the back office.
A cloud or multi-cloud environment that is properly optimised and scalable for the needs of the organisation, with multiple copies of core data, can also enrich the customer experience by enabling developers and product managers across geographical regions and jurisdictions to roll out new products and services and respond swiftly to customer needs.
The right resilience measures also need to be considered when an organisation’s most vital asset – its data – is at stake. Scalability, meeting regulatory obligations from the PRA and the EU’s DORA, and lowering latency are all further challenges that need to be addressed when considering a cloud-based architecture.
This roundtable with senior industry peers will look at key strategies for building operational resilience in the cloud, speeding up time to market for new apps and services and tackling disruption when the worst-case scenario hits.
Topics for discussion:
•What are the main challenges for FSIs in maintaining resiliency and availability across their cloud/multi-cloud infrastructure?
•How can FSIs prepare for upcoming regulatory directives including the EU’s DORA and the PRA’s guidance on cloud concentration risk?
•What are the best strategies for mitigating the impact of outages in multi-cloud deployments?
•What are the key considerations for FSIs when thinking about cloud portability and interoperability in different cloud environments?
•How advanced are FSIs in scaling their cloud deployments as their needs evolve?
•What challenges exist for FSIs in maintaining the integrity and correctness of their data across multi-cloud environments?
