Bank of America (BofA) has poached four high-ranking tech bankers to grow its dealmaking capacity in the sector.
Gary Kirkham, formerly of private investment bank Centerview partners, has been named as executive vice chair. Kirkham has over 20 years of experience “advising technology companies on IPOs and financings” and more, according to his LinkedIn page, and previously worked at the bank for over 20 years, most recently as global co-head of technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) investment banking.
Jason Rowe has also joined the bank, now serving as BofA’s co-head of technology investment banking. Rowe moves from Goldman Sachs, where he held multiple positions over his 24-year service, most recently as a co-head of software investment banking.
Mahir Zaimoglu will become head of BofA’s TMT M&A investment banking division. He currently serves as a co-founder of AI recruiting platform TalentMesh and has a long career in M&A , including 13 years in the sector at JP Morgan.
Patrik Czornik has been brought in from JP Morgan to become co-head of TMT M&A in the EMEA region. Since 2022, he has been head of JP Morgan’s EMEA Telecoms operation.
Last year, BofA lost some of its senior figures in the technology sector, including Kevin Brunner, who was BofA’s chair of global mergers and acquisitions and global head of its TMT investment banking division until he joined JP Morgan in January 2026.
BofA is also expanding its use of technology internally. In February it announced that it would tap AI-ready content from the London Stock Exchange Group to accelerate analysis and improve insight generation across client workflows.
