Imran Gulamhuseinwala is a highly experienced advisor to governments, financial institutions, and investors, with expertise in Open Banking, FinTech, and transformation. As the former chief executive and chair of the Open Banking Implementation Entity (2017-2021), he was responsible for delivering the UK’s world-leading Open Banking initiative. Imran is a sought-after public and private speaker on FinTech and regularly provides practicable, executable advice focused on implementation and regulatory navigation. He is currently a senior advisor to Portage, The Garage, and four FinTechs in digital banking, payments, and fraud. Previously, Imran led EY's global FinTech practice and co-founded the FinTech company CommuterClub. He advises central banks and regulators internationally and formerly served on the board of the Charity Commission. Imran holds an MEng degree, the CFA designation, and was awarded an OBE for services to FinTech.
