Krypto Commerce signs Jumio verification deal

Spanish-based crypto-currency specialist Krypto Commerce has chosen Jumio to provide know your customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) verification services for its new product, the PoolMiners Card.

The PoolMiners Card is a prepaid debit card that uses crypto-currencies such as Bitcoin. The new card can be used at more than 100,000 merchants that accept crypto-currencies worldwide.

The card is an online-only product, with no physical branches, are IDs are checked prior to the opening of an account. Jumio’s Netverify solution will help validate IDs and fulfil the required KYC and AML laundering checks. Customers must scan their passport with their mobile device to verify themselves.

Ruben Arcas, project director at Krypto Commerce, said: “Compliance and security are critical to our proposition, but equally, we don’t want to have a clunky verification system that doesn’t provide a good user experience. Netverify is absolutely perfect for our needs and will provide the level of customer service and experience that we want our cardholders to enjoy at every stage of their relationship with us.”
