Defending a multi-cloud environment – identifying and mitigating risk

Digital Roundtable
Thursday 2 April 2020, 14:00
As reports of devastating cyber attacks and data breaches become a daily occurrence, financial services firms run the risk of ever steeper regulatory fines and losing crucial consumer trust. As a result, it has never been more important to ensure that data is secure in the cloud.
But companies face a barrage of challenges: multi-cloud environments can complicate threat detection, while on-premise data centres slow down attack reaction times as data is siloed across businesses. At the same time, digital disruptors are less incumbered by legacy IT systems, running responsive cloud environments and showing the opportunities open to those who embrace change.
So what can be done to prevent hackers from being successful, and for those attacks that do get through the net, how can damage be minimised and what are the most appropriate incident response processes to lock data down, restore functionality and protect a company’s reputation?
This event will bring together relevant industry peers to share common challenges, debate best practice and hear some of the cloud-agnostic security solutions offered by experts at Akamai.
Topics for discussion:
• What systems and process do companies have in place to protect customer data on-premise or in the cloud?
• With regards to Open Banking and PSD2, how are firms exposed via APIs and how can they secure data sharing channels?
• Are organisations facing issues around scaling – how best to test for peak activity and threats?
• What other regulations and compliance concerns are top of the agenda?
• In terms of cloud migration, how can businesses reduce reputational risk when using third-parties?
• Is public, private or multi-cloud the best solution from a security perspective?
Please note, this event is open to financial institutions only.
