Today’s digital economy has radically changed employee expectations of the world of work: no longer content with healthy salaries and benefits, the financial services workforce is more tech savvy than ever, and expects the same of their employer. As a result, established institutions are competing with FinTechs and InsurTechs competitors - and the perks and digital ways of working they offer- to attract and retain top talent.
The pandemic has also seen HR teams work to onboard and upskill staff remotely, while the volumes of data pile up and the pressure to make efficiencies grows. Meanwhile, rising awareness of data privacy means that staff are now expecting greater access to their own data. As a result, app-based access to payroll, holiday requests and shift schedules are a crucial route to employees feeling valued and in control of their own careers.
To meet these challenges, some employers are making the move from legacy infrastructure to cloud-based platforms which offer HR teams and managers greater visibility of data and automation of core HR functions, while AI-driven apps offer employees a more personalised on-demand experience.
This roundtable will delve into the key challenges for HR teams in financial institutions as they seek to use digital technologies to transform processes such as payroll, holiday and legal and free up time for more human-focussed tasks while giving employees greater control.
