In an age of digital transformation, finding infrastructure that is flexible, scalable, and agile enough to meet a range of evolving customer needs is a key priority for financial services providers as they look to transform existing legacy systems and ease the burden of enterprise-wide scalability.
Open-source database infrastructure has the potential to achieve the portability and flexibility needed for financial institutions to solve a range of challenges as they digitalise products, services and operations.
Nevertheless, many firms remain hesitant to fully adopt amid concerns of achieving the levels of enterprise readiness required to support mission critical applications.
This means many companies miss out on the huge advantages of systems such as Postrgres and other open-source software which can help to optimise processes without the need for application developers to perform mass migration of existing systems to cloud and multi-cloud environments.
This roundtable with industry peers will explore the key challenges and opportunities for FSIs as they look to modernise their operations using open-source software.
Topics for discussion:
•Where is your organisation on that journey and what are some of the challenges ahead?
•Is open source technology adoption a strategic priority for your organisation?
•Against a backdrop of application modernisation, how are FSIs using open source software today? What are some of the most interesting use cases?
•Are regulatory obligations either a driver for or a hindrance to open source adoption?
•How can FSI’s enable data portability in the cloud?
•How far advanced are you in the journey to cloud and is open source database adoption a part of that journey? What do you want to see from your partners to enable hybrid or multicloud?
