AXA UK&I appoints Alain Zweibrucker as AXA Retail CEO

AXA UK & Ireland has announced the appointment of Alain Zweibrucker as chief executive of AXA Retail.

Zweibrucker joins AXA UK & Ireland from AXA Switzerland, where he has served as chief financial officer and a member of the company’s executive committee for the past seven years.

He will assume the role from 2 January 2024, replacing AXA Retail interim chief executive Anna Fleming, who will return to her former role as chief operating officer since taking over from previous chief executive Tara Foley.

Foley was previously chief executive of AXA Retail before being appointed chief executive of AXA UK & Ireland in September 2023.

“Alain has a wealth of technical expertise in property & casualty insurance and a strong track record of transformation and delivery,” Foley said. “This background combined with his experience as a results-oriented and people focused leader will be invaluable as we navigate a challenging market environment and continue to drive the success of our retail business.”

Zweibrucker has worked at AXA for 25 years having previously held senior property & casualty insurance roles in a number of markets.
