The Bank of London has opened a new ‘centre of excellence’ in Belfast.
The global clearing agency and transaction bank said that the new hub would create 232 new jobs by 2026.
The centre already has 34 employees, which include people working in payments, operations, and software engineers. There are also an additional 54 new roles being advertised.
The Bank of London, which has other locations and tech hubs in London and New York, says that the move will generate around £20 million worth of annual salaries for the local economy.
“To build the future of finance, we need to be where the future is,” said Anthony Watson, founder and group chief executive, The Bank of London.
“Belfast is now the UK’s gateway city to the European Union, and this coupled with Belfast’s exceptional FinTech talent across multiple disciplines, makes it the logical choice for The Bank of London’s Centre of Excellence to power our UK expansion.”
