Deutsche Bank ‘crowdstorms’ AI innovations

FinTech innovators are being asked to submit their ideas on how artificial intelligence (AI) can help Deutsche Bank reinvent its customer service experience.

Deutsche Bank has teamed up with crowdsourcing site jovoto for a second time to run the open competition, which will see winning entries share a €25,000 prize pool.

Applicants are tasked to explore how the latest AI trends can be adapted to banking, and to unearth disruptive ideas that could completely change the way people bank and manage their finances in the future.

The concepts will be presented to a judging panel – including the head of innovation and head of disruptive programs at Deutsche Bank – and a handful of entrants will be invited to develop their creations with experts at the FI’s innovation labs in Berlin during a three-day workshop.

jovoto noted that leading technology companies such as Google, facebook, IBM and Tesla all considered AI a crucial element in future innovations, while organisations from other sectors, like banking, were beginning to dedicate research and development budget to exploring AI concepts.

Christian Sewing, head of private and business clients at Deutsche Bank, added: “It’s no longer about the digitalisation of the banking business, but about the future of banking in a digitalised world.”
