Doha Bank partners with Mastercard on digital payments

Doha Bank has signed a long-term partnership with Mastercard to improve its digital payment services.

Doha Bank said that the new collaboration will expand its expertise in in cards and digital payments, as well as support its digital transformation process.

The move is part of Doha Bank’s ‘Himma’ roadmap that aims to redefine how it operates and serves its clients.

The agreement is one of the largest deals of its kind in Qatar and the bank said the terms were finalised in “record” time.

In recent years, Qatar has been actively pursuing digital transformation, which the bank said has been identified as a main driver of diversified economic development.

The country has made investments in technology infrastructure and launched several initiatives aimed at promoting the adoption of digital technologies in various industries, including the financial sector.

“Doha Bank is committed to playing a pivotal role in achieving the objectives of the Third Financial Sector Strategic Plan as part of Qatar National Vision 2030,” said Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad Al Thani, group chief executive at Doha Bank. “Our forward-looking partnership with Mastercard is a part of our continuous efforts to reshaping the country’s payments landscape providing the best benefits and solutions to the various segments of our customers.”
