Dutch neobank bunq has launched a generative AI (GenAI) assistant for its users to help them carry out a range of tasks.
Dubbed Finn, the large language model (LLM) can help customers gain insights into spending habits, find transactions and acts as a replacement for the search function on the app.
The move comes as bunq says that AI has so far played a “significant” role in its expansion across Europe.
The LLM uses bunq’s own technology, with the bank saying that the chatbot will be familiar to anyone who has used services such as ChatGPT.
“Finn will wow you,” said Ali Niknam, founder and chief executive of bunq. “Years of AI innovation, coupled with laser focus on our users, allowed us to completely transform banking as you know it. Seeing Generative AI make life so much easier for our users is incredibly exciting.”
The company added that it has reached 11 million users in the EU, while deposits have grown by 55 per cent to €7 billion since July.
