GreenBanana launches BNPL platform for retail sector

Frankfurt-based FinTech GreenBanana is launching a Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform designed to streamline BNPL processes for both merchants and providers.

Targeting small and medium-sized businesses as well as international companies—whether operating online, in-store, B2C, or B2B—Bnplx.io connects merchants with BNPL providers across over 25 countries through a single API and intelligent routing.

The platform enables merchants to offer customers a choice of BNPL providers. If a transaction is declined by one provider, the system automatically suggests an alternative, ensuring a seamless customer experience and higher approval rates for merchants.

Bnplx.io integrates as a plug-in with Shopware and WooCommerce, providing additional services such as Accounting-as-a-Service (AaaS), AI-powered fraud prevention, and real-time analytics to enhance the customer experience.

Cihan Duezguen, co-founder and CEO of GreenBanana Group, noted that the launch responds to growing consumer demand for flexible payment options when purchasing electronics, fashion, furniture, and other goods.

The Group, which recently secured €2 million in pre-seed funding from payments industry investors, emphasised in a statement that the rising popularity of invoice purchases and instalment payments makes BNPL a crucial competitive advantage.

Duezguen commented: “We provide merchants with access to an international BNPL network featuring a wide range of providers, whether they operate under a white-label solution or their own brand.”

Marcus W. Mosen, a member of GreenBanana’s advisory board, added: “Bnplx.io delivers greater speed, transparency, and value to both merchants and providers.”
