British bank HSBC has expanded its Americas equity research team in an effort to serve wealthy clients.

On Tuesday, the bank said that the team had grown to 24 people this year, with the expanded team increasing its coverage of US stock markets.

HSBC said that it had hired 12 equity analysts for the region, bringing its equity team to 24 people and the group of researchers for all asset classes in the Americas to 40.

The bank’s head of research in the Americas, Daragh Maher, said that the hires will enable it to broaden its equities coverage in the region to more than 250 stocks across 83 sectors.
