Klarna Card launched in the US

Klarna is launching its credit card in the US.

Klarna Card offers flexible payment options for both physical and online stores where Visa is accepted.

The card allows "pay over time" on eligible purchases in three or six monthly payments and lets customers move a purchase due date to the next month's statement, with both features including interest.

Only US residents above the age of 18 that have previously purchased with Klarna and repaid on time at least once will be eligible for the card.

Klarna said that the move comes after the success of its card in Europe.

The Swedish Buy Now, Pay Later company launched its Klarna Card in the UK at the beginning of 2022, after already having rolled it out to customers in Sweden and Germany

"We're finally bringing the new Klarna Card to the US market, a product that gives consumers more financial control to choose how they want to pay,” said Sebastian Siemiatkowski, co-founder and chief executive of Klarna. “Unlike many traditional credit cards, the Klarna Card is transparent with no hidden fees, gives consumers increased payment options, flexibility, and cashback when they use the card in our app, meaning they have a smarter way to manage their finances."
