Majority of UK users say FinTech apps help in some way

88 per cent of UK users find that FinTech apps and services have helped them in some way, new research from Open Finance data network Plaid has found.

According to the study, which surveyed 4,000 in the US and UK, two-thirds of respondents say technology has helped them feel more comfortable talking about financial topics

Half – 49 per cent - report feeling more in control of their finances since using FinTech.

A further 36 per cent said that financial tech has helped reduce fear and financial stress in their lives.

“With the flurry of activity in FinTech funding, chatter around market valuations, and notable acquisitions in recent months, it can be easy to forget the more important role that fintech can play in improving peoples’ everyday financial lives,” said Keith Grose, head of international, Plaid. “Helping people to manage their money during stressful times, improving convenience, and bettering the financial services experience are all of the forces behind what is driving fintechs’ success.”
