NatWest launches app on Apple’s Vision Pro

NatWest says it will become one of the first banks in the world to launch a banking app on Apple’s Vision pro.

Apple’s spatial computer blends digital content with the physical world, with users able to control a 3D interface entirely with their eyes, hands and voice.

NatWest said that customers will be able to access their everyday banking needs on the system by tapping their fingers to select options, flicking their wrist to scroll or using a dictation to type.

The bank also has plans to build on the new technology whilst using insights from usage of the app to improve its digital product offering.

“We’re very pleased to now offer our excellent Retail banking app through an immersive new experience,” said Wendy Redshaw, chief digital information officer at NatWest Group. “It will be interesting to take learnings, understanding how customers use the app in this new technology to deal with their finances, and to understand how we can create bespoke propositions to serve them even better.

“It’s just one insight into how the future of banking could look in the future – watch this space.”

Last month, NatWest announced the launch of a new generative AI upgrade to its digital assistant Cora.

Cora+, developed in collaboration with IBM, has built on current capabilities to create an intelligent virtual agent that uses genAI to provide more "intuitive and conversational" customer experiences.
