NatWest opens applications for 2026 FinTech programme

NatWest has opened applications for the second year of its accelerator programme for UK FinTech startups that use AI to transform customer experience in financial services.

Selected candidates will participate in a 12-week programme, during which they will receive support from the NatWest Innovation team to explore opportunities for collaboration with the bank, access mentoring from senior decision-makers, and connect with NatWest's wider innovation ecosystem through live events and workshops.

Building on last year's programme, NatWest said the initiative will address rapid technological change and evolving customer expectations, including agentic AI and the emergence of smart devices.

The initiative targets pre-series A and series A FinTechs with proven market fit and traction, aiming to help them deliver innovative solutions to create immersive banking experiences beyond apps, added the bank.

NatWest added some of the events related to the initiative will be held at NatWest's Accelerator Hubs, including the new London Hub.

David Grunwald, head of innovation at NatWest Group, said that the pace of progress in AI and technology is radically changing the way customers interact with financial services, making innovation and collaboration essential requirements.

“FinTechs play a vital role in meeting these challenges, so it’s essential we support them to thrive as we come together to shape the future of banking,” Grunwald added.
