Nubank surpasses 100m customers

Brazilian neobank Nubank has announced it now has more than 100 million customers across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia.

According to the company, this makes it the first digital banking platform to reach this milestone outside of Asia.

The announcement comes after the FinTech reported record 2023 financial results, with more than US$1 billion in profits and over $8 billion in revenue.

Currently, Nubank serves more than 92 million customers in Brazil, over one million in Mexico, and close to one million in Colombia.

Nubank was first launched in 2013, with the company surpassing one million customers in Brazil two years after introducing its first product.

It began expanding internationally to Mexico and Colombia in 2019.

“In 2013, we had set ourselves the ambitious goal to reach one million customers in five years, which seemed almost impossible at the time," said David Vélez, founder and chief executive of Nubank. "In a decade, we have surpassed 100 million, which is a testament to the trust our customers place in us and to the power of a truly customer-centric business model."
