Visa partners with Fintech Cadence to support Canadian payment firms

Visa has partnered with Fintech Cadence, a non-profit incubator, to support companies building products and services for the payments and remittance sectors.

Through the partnership, the two organisations will hold events and put on educational programmes.

Fintech Cadence is the largest FinTech incubator in Canada, with the company saying that over the past eight years it has created a community which supports founders in their early stages and connects them with the financial industry.

In Canada, Visa claims that FinTechs are transforming the payments ecosystem, describing them as a “vital” part of the economy.

Visa added that it works with over 2,000 FinTechs around the world to solve challenges within payments and provide companies with the expertise needed to navigate the complexities of digital commerce.

"Like many of these companies, we started with a vision to solve a consumer pain point and now, we are deeply committed to supporting the next generation of innovators,” said Chris Ferron, vice president of enablers, merchants and FinTechs at Visa. “Our work with FinTech Cadence is a testament to this commitment and we are thrilled to collaborate to empower bold ideas and drive meaningful change in the payment space."
