Dutch private bank ABN Amro is looking to future-proof its payment solutions and customer experience through a renewed partnership with European FinTech Worldline.
The firms have signed a new contract that will see ABN Amro leverage the cloud technology stack developed by Worldline to modernise the payment services and experience it delivers to customers.
In particular, ABN Amro has tasked Worldline with handling important payment services like card issuing and personalisation on its behalf. The banking firm is also looking to Worldline to ensure it keeps providing customers with access to a seamless payment services suite, which comprises things like SEPA Credit Transfers and Instant Payments.
Erica Kostelijk, head of product unit transaction banking at ABN AMRO, said: “We are pleased to extend the already long-standing relationship with Worldline, as this partnership ensures our reliable, excellent and future-proof payments offering to our customers.”
This latest contract renewal forms part of a close relationship between ABN Amro and Worldline that has endured for decades.
With both firms agreeing to continue working together in a fast-changing marketplace, they particularly want to ensure Dutch consumers always have access to modern payment solutions that offer robust security and efficiency.
Worldline aims to do this by leveraging advancements like cloud computing and open banking. It helps financial institutions like ABN Amro replace existing, legacy IT systems that may be constraining their operations with these newer alternatives.
Describing this as a “very proud” moment for Worldline, Madalena Cascais Tomé - who heads up processing and financial institutions at Worldline - said the firms would work together to “shape the future of payments innovation in an evolving market” and ensure
“sovereignty, resilience and performance”.
While they didn’t specify the exact terms of the contract, both firms have agreed to a long-term arrangement.
