Bain & Company promotes De Vusser to CEO

Management consulting firm Bain & Company has announced the appointment of Christophe De Vusser as its new chief executive officer and worldwide managing partner.

De Vusser will succeed Manny Maceda from 1 July, with the incumbent chief exec currently serving his second three-year term at the company’s helm.

In a statement, the company praised Maceda for leading the company through a period of accelerated expansion since 2018, with an extended run of double-digit growth and investment. Maceda oversaw 25 successful acquisitions or minority investments in that period, and is attributed with fostering and reinforcing “Bain’s unique, collaborative culture.”

De Vusser, who will become Bain's first European chief exec, joined the company in 2000 and has served as the head of its Private Equity and Financial Investors practice in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since 2018. Prior to that, he served as managing partner of Bain’s Brussels office where he helped to double its business while expanding activities into new areas and developing the local team.

Maceda praised his incoming successor, noting “Christophe will maintain our ambition and lead continuing change to further improve our effectiveness, all with a focus on clients and results while further strengthening Bain’s differentiation as one of best places to work– and on leading Bain into the next chapters of its global success story.”

Commenting on his election, De Vusser said: “I’m honoured to be chosen by my peers to lead this world class firm. It’s a privilege to succeed Manny as we build on a remarkable period of sustained success under his leadership.”
