Lloyds Bank announces shake-up of exec committee

Lloyds Banking Group has appointed three new executive committee members.

Jayne Opperman will become chief executive of consumer relationships, part of the bank’s retail banking division.

She most recently worked at Barclays as the chief operations officer for the organisation’s consumer bank and has also held the role of head of consumer technology for APAC and EMEA at Citi.

John Winter will move on from his role as region executive and chief executive for EMEA at MUFG to become chief executive of corporate and institutional banking at Lloyds, part of the commercial banking division.

Laura Needham will become the bank’s chief internal auditor. She has experience as a banking partner at PwC where she worked in New York, Sydney and London on international assignments for the past 22 years.

“We have a strong leadership team to execute the Group’s long-term strategy,” said Charlie Nunn, group chief executive, Lloyds Banking Group. “All three of the new joiners bring deep experience of banking and their success in transforming and growing franchises at other leading financial institutions will benefit us and our clients and I look forward to welcoming them.”
