Lloyds Banking Group has announced the appointment of Jane Gilmour as its new chief technology officer.
Gilmour will join the bank from HSBC, where she is currently chief technology officer for group functions technology, a position which she has held for over two years.
In this role, Gilmour has led enterprise-wide technology programmes covering technology strategy, infrastructure, resilience, transformation and operational excellence across the bank's global technology estate.
Prior to this, Gilmour worked at retailer Marks & Spencer for three years, holding the roles of chief technology officer and group head of architecture and infrastructure.
Gilmour has over five years of technology experience across financial services and other industries. She has also held senior roles at The Coca-Cola Company, Barclays, GE Capital, JPMorgan and Accenture.
At Lloyds, Gilmour will lead the technology transformation supporting the bank's Accelerate 2030 strategy. Her responsibilities will include strengthening the group's engineering capabilities, modernising technology platforms, improving operational resilience and supporting innovation across the business.
Lloyds said the appointment will support its long-term technology strategy by strengthening the engineering and platform capabilities that underpin the group's growth plans.
The bank added that Jane will focus on helping Lloyds modernise its technology estate while maintaining the resilience and security needed to support customers and the wider business.
She will report into group chief operating officer Ron van Kemenade.
Van Kemenade said: “Jane brings deep technology expertise and a strong track record of leading complex transformation in ways that deliver real, practical benefits for customers and colleagues.
“As we look ahead to Accelerate 2030, her leadership will help us innovate at pace while strengthening the resilience and security that are fundamental to banking.”
