Paymentology first European card issuer to receive Visa Cloud Connect certification

Global issuer-processor Paymentology has become the first card issuer-processor in Europe to receive Visa Cloud Connect (VCC) certification.

VCC helps firms connect to VisaNet, a global network that processes multiple forms of digital payment, via their cloud-based infrastructures.

Paymentology provides a payments platform and multi-cloud network to process any type of card as a preferred issuer-processor of Visa.

The UK-headquartered firm says that it is now better able to serve its FinTech, banking, and telco clients through its full suite of Visa products, as well as eliminate data centre costs, streamline transactions and ensure data security.

As part of the business' cloud-first initiative, it said that it will have VCC "end point active zones" across Europe to "ensure ultimate uptime for its clients while more markets will be deployed as part of the ambitious collaborative roadmap".

“Expanding access to financial tools and services is core to Visa’s purpose – uplifting everyone everywhere," said Joe Samuel, vice president, head of issuer enables, Europe, Visa. "Partners that connect to our global Visa Cloud Connect network unlock a wealth of product solutions for their clients and so we’re excited to continue our longstanding partnership with Paymentology.”

Paymentology said that its collaboration with Visa intends to support its strategy of "unlocking payments on a global scale", targeting key markets for the company across APAC, Latam, Africa, and MENA.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Visa, and we are delighted to fortify our cloud-first strategy by achieving Visa Cloud Connect certification, said Merusha Naidu, global head of partnerships at Paymentology. "As the first issuer processor in Europe to have our infrastructure purely in the cloud, this move not only exemplifies our commitment to innovation but also establishes our platform as the epitome of flexibility, scalability, and security for our clients."
