Rabobank has released its Rabo Wallet, making it the first bank in the Netherlands to offer smartphone payments. The app is initially only available for Samsung S4 and Note 3 smartphones, although plans are afoot to launch on other devices. Dutch consumers can use their phones to pay for their shopping, check balances, store loyalty cards and redeem digital vouchers via NFC in shops equipped with contactless terminals.
The Rabo Wallet is based on G&D’s mobile application platform Convego AppWorld and is supported by its Trusted Service Management (TSM) service.
