Seccl hires new COO

Octopus-owned embedded investment platform Seccl has appointed Prerna Goel as chief operating officer.

Goel has nearly 20 years of experience in the world of finance and FinTech, with previous experience at a number of well-known financial firms, including ClearBank, Metro Bank, Capital One, CIBC, and Texas instruments.

As head of clients and operations at ClearBank, a position she held from 2016 to 2021, she focused on developing the company's core embedded finance product.

he was previously payment operations manager at Metro Bank for one year and senior manager of operations at Capital One for five years.

Goel is a founding member of Project Nemo, a pioneering UK-based initiative dedicated to accelerating disability inclusion within the FinTech industry. She also co-owns Vriksh Impact Partners, a global advisory and investment firm aiming to drive ESG change.

In her new role Goel will be tasked with leading Seccl’s operations, finance, CASS, legal and cross-functional delivery teams.

Commenting on the new role, she said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to join Seccl. The firm is uniquely positioned to win, balancing rapid growth with the delivery of operational excellence and a desire to set new standards for innovation in the industry.”

David Ferguson, chief executive at the firm described Goel as an “invaluable” addition to the company’s leadership team.

Earlier last month, Seccl expanded its tech team with the appointment of Tom Harris to the role of chief technology officer. Harris is responsible for leading Seccl’s technology vision, including the data and information security functions.
