UK Finance announces new CEO

UK Finance has announced David Postings as its new chief executive.

The industry body for the UK’s financial services industry said that he was appointed with the unanimous support of the board and will take up the role on 1 January 2021.

Postings most recently served at the global chief executive of Bibby Financial Services.

He has over 40 years’ experience in financial services and has held senior roles at Barclays, leading its sales financing in the late 1990s and went on to run group IT and operations business before joining Lloyds TSB as managing director of the commercial bank in 2004.

Posting was also chief executive of Cattles and TTT Moneycorp, before joining Bibby. He
has been a non-executive director of UK Finance since September 2018.

Bob Wigley will continue as the executive chair of UK Finance until Postings takes up his role of chief executive.

Commenting on his appointment, Postings said: “The sector’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the vital role that finance must play in supporting consumers and businesses through this difficult economic situation.

“I am looking forward to working with members and colleagues to continue UK Finance’s commitment to building an even more customer-focused and innovative sector for the benefit of the UK economy as a whole.”
