Barclays expands financial sponsors group

Barclays has hired Christian Oberle as head of Americas financial sponsors group and Tom Vignon as managing director and senior member of the EMEA financial sponsors group respectively.

Oberle joins from JP Morgan, where he was a senior managing director and held key account responsibility for several clients including KPS Capital Partners and Apollo Global Management. He has around 20 years of investment banking experience.

Vignon will join from Credit Suisse, where he has worked for over 20 years and is currentlt head of financial sponsors group EMEA. He has advised on a range of transactions cincluding Lottomatica’s recent IPO.

The appointments follow the news that Carmen Chan and Emma Taylor will join the bank’s technology investment banking team.Chan will become managing director of internet coverage, while Taylor will join as global head of internet coverage.
