Barclays starts trading on Vienna Stock Exchange

Barclays Bank has announced it is now trading on the Vienna Stock Exchange.

The stock exchange says that international trading partners generate over 85 per cent of equity turnover in Vienna, with more than 47 per cent of turnover originating from German members.

The Austrian exchange currently has 66 members, including 21 Austrian and 45 international banks and securities firms who are currently trading on the platform.

“Barclays serves clients with comprehensive and integrated solutions across global markets, and we are pleased to join the Vienna Stock Exchange today,” said Raoul Salomon, co-head of markets at Barclays Europe. “Europe is central to our strategy and joining this exchange will offer our clients direct access to an important European market and help diversify portfolios.”

Earlier this month, Barclays launched a free online service for founders to showcase their business to potential investors.

The bank said the service aims to help businesses seek investment opportunities that they previously may not have explored.
