Visa rolls out digital wallet service in Ukraine, South Africa and Georgia

Visa has rolled out its Tap to Add Card service in Ukraine, South Africa and Georgia.

Cardholders across the three countries will now be able to add their cards to digital wallets by tapping them on their mobile device.

The service generates a one-time code, validated by Visa's Chip Authenticate service, which ensures secure credential provisioning of the card.

Visa says the solution eliminates a traditional manual entry process which has led to errors and vulnerabilities, as well as being exploited by fraudsters seeking to compromise card information.

Tap to Add Card aims to reduce the risk and costs associated with purchase fraud for card issuers by simplifying the wallet addition process, reducing customer service requests, and improving transaction approval rates.

Tetiana Chorna, Visa vice president, country manager in Ukraine, said the solution offers cardholders “greater peace of mind” when adding a card to a digital wallet, with the added security that their information is protected by advanced security measures.

“We believe that Tap to Add Card will be instrumental in driving further adoption of digital wallets in Ukraine by addressing key security concerns and simplifying the user experience,” she added.
