Revolut has begun rolling out a new in-app artificial intelligence assistant to UK customers.
The feature, branded AI by Revolut (AIR), is designed to allow customers to manage spending, investments and everyday financial tasks through a single chat interface embedded within the company’s mobile app. The launch signals the digital bank’s latest attempt to deepen user engagement by integrating generative AI capabilities directly into its ecosystem.
Revolut said that AIR enables users to retrieve spending insights, track investments, manage subscriptions and freeze cards through conversational prompts rather than navigating multiple menus.
The rollout begins in the UK, with wider availability expected over time.
The assistant extends beyond core banking functions into lifestyle services, allowing users to plan trips, set budgets and purchase eSIMs within the app. Revolut has positioned the feature as a unified interface for both financial and non-financial activities, reflecting broader industry efforts to consolidate digital services into single platforms.
Julia Ponomareva, director and general manager of customer experience and AI products at Revolut, said: “We believe the era of navigating through endless tabs and menus is over. With AIR, we’re delivering a new level of money intelligence that’s both powerful and effortless.”
Revolut has emphasised data privacy as a central component of the product’s design. The company stated that AIR operates under a zero data retention policy with third-party AI partners, meaning user information is not stored externally or used to train external models.
The assistant accesses only the data already visible to customers within the app, such as transactions, cards and investments. This approach reflects growing regulatory and consumer scrutiny over how financial institutions deploy AI tools and handle sensitive data.
AIR is embedded directly into the app interface, with users able to activate it by swiping down from the home screen or accessing it through the chat function. The design aims to reduce friction in common financial tasks and provide a more intuitive interaction model, Revolut said.
Ponomareva added the assistant is intended to act as a “co-pilot” for users, helping them manage finances more naturally through conversation. The company argues that this model could replace conventional app navigation as the primary way customers interact with financial services.
The launch places Revolut among a growing number of financial services firms experimenting with AI-driven interfaces. Banks and FinTechs have increasingly explored conversational tools as a way to simplify complex financial processes and improve customer engagement.
Elsewhere, the company has signed a ten-year lease for a new Western Europe headquarters in Paris, as the UK fintech accelerates its expansion across the region and deepens its push into France’s banking market.
The company will occupy more than 2,400 square metres across six floors at 116 Rue Réaumur in the French capital, with the office set to open in early 2027, according to a company statement and reporting by Bloomberg. The site sits between the historic Bourse financial district and the Sentier technology hub, reflecting the firm’s focus on combining traditional banking with digital innovation.
Revolut said the Paris base will act as a central hub for its Western European operations, where it serves more than 25 million customers. France is a key growth market, with around 7 million users currently and a target to reach 10 million by the end of 2027, according to Bloomberg.
The expansion forms part of a broader €1 billion investment in France and Western Europe, which includes plans to hire more than 400 staff and build a workforce of over 1,500 tied to a prospective French banking entity. Revolut is currently seeking a French banking licence, a move that would allow it to offer a wider range of products including mortgages and savings.
The Paris headquarters will support teams working across major markets including Spain, Italy, Germany, Ireland and Portugal. Revolut said the office will host collaborative work, product launches and events, while maintaining its remote-first working model.
